LTTE was able
to sustain the war for thirty years because the Tamil population supplied the
manpower and other support. If the Tamil civilians had refused to support the
LTTE and decided to support the Sri Lanka army instead, the Eelam wars would
have collapsed.
The Tamil civilians
had two choices, to be loyal to the central government which was looking after
their needs, such as salaries and food or to link with the LTTE which was engaging
in a separatist war. They chose the second alternative.
The Tamil civilians
in the north did nothing to help the Sri Lanka army bring the war to an end.

20 public health infringement notices were issued over the last 24-hours by Police.
16 notices were issued in the Southern Division and they were for people who failed to wear a mask in a public place.
4 other notices were issued in the Western Division.
Three were issued for social gathering and one to a public service vehicle driver for breaching the 50% Ministry of Health guidelines.
If you see anyone breaching the restrictions call Police on 917 or the following Divisional Command Centres.

The Southern Division recorded the highest number of infringement notices in the last 24 hours.
This after 20 Public Health Infringement Notices (PHINs) were issued overnight with the Southern Division recording 16 notices and all were for failing to wear a mask in a public place.
According to Police the other four PHINs were issued in the Western Division.
Police say three were issued for social gathering and one to a public service vehicle driver for breaching the 50 per cent Ministry of Health Guidelines.
Fijians are urged to report any breach of restrictions by calling 917 or the following Divisional Command Centers;
